Un homenaje fotográfico a mi padre y su tienda de 18 años:
Don Matute y Su Tienda

This is the life of My Country Store and my dad who continues to run it everyday.

I used to spend most of my childhood here taking care of my siblings or helping at the front (sometimes even having to stay alone at the front while my parents ran business errands; nothing that terrified me more at the time, which is funny now), and while I used to feel trapped or bored here as a kid or feel annoyed that my parents’ time was consumed by work, I’ve come to grow appreciation for this place that has now existed for 18 continuous years and that lets me do and accomplish the things I do and experience today.

Even when it seemed like this store or business came first, it is the sustenance and support for our family that really was the motivation behind its existence and other businesses that followed.

I’m grateful for my parents and their work in establishing this place that I grew up with and new establishments that continue to support my siblings and I today, so that we are at a place to provide my parents a million times more than what they’ve given to us.
